What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - PRN position at Acadiana Rehabilitation Hospital?
Duties:
- Assist the physical therapist in providing patient care and treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic exercises and modalities under the guidance of the physical therapist
- Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions
- Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities
- Assist with patient transfers and mobility as needed
- Administer treatments such as trigger point therapy and manual therapy techniques
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area
Requirements:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience in occupational health, hospital, or acute care settings preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
