Scheduler

1. Accurately schedules patients with a 2% error rate or less. Demonstrates understanding of all preps for any procedures or surgeries and communicates preps to patients and physicians office at a time of scheduling.

2. Accurately pre-register scheduled patients, obtaining correct demographic and insurance information. Communicating and obtaining co-pay, unmet deductible and out of pocket amounts.

3. Accurately obtain information from physician office to verify insurance and demographics and gathers all necessary information in order to pre-register patient for testing including pre-cert numbers etc

4. Coordinates with hospital departments to ensure the efficient scheduling of outpatient procedures. Answering and returning calls in a timely manner.

5. Appropriately coordinates scheduling of special testing requiring anesthesia services, radiologist, and pre-admission or other specialty area.

6. Appropriately checks the medical necessity of schedule tests for Medicare patients also obtains or confirms receipt of prior approval for applicable tests and procedures to ensure timely payment.

7. Proficiently utilizes computer system to access patient information, email, and other required systems.

8. Consistently refers uninsured and underinsured patients to financial counselors in a timely manner.

9. Has a cost-conscious attitude and utilizes time and resources efficiently.

10. Readily performs special projects as assigned. 11. Collects list of medications from patient for IV contract exams,, faxes to pharmacy for approval, calls patient & or doctor to information of any dis continuance of meds prior to testing.
