What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper-PRN position at Acadian Medical Center?
1. Selects cleaning materials and supplies and prepares solutions according to procedure. Loads service cart and transports to work area.
2. Cleans entire patient rooms after each patient is discharged including changing bed, thoroughly cleaning floor, bathroom, bedside table, and blinds.
3. Cleans Surgical, Cath Lab, areas as assigned.
4. Dusts, vacuums, mops and sweeps as needed in all areas of the hospital.
5. Maintains sufficient stock and a good quality of linen to provide for day to day use reporting to the Director, Environmental Services any problem that may arise with the linen.
6. Assists with cleaning of floors as instructed by the Director, Environmental Services.
7. Operates various types of cleaning equipment on a daily basis safely.
8. Returns unused supplies to proper place, cleans carts and equipment and ensures all items are replaced in an orderly manner.
9. Cleans all public and staff areas according to guidelines and assignments to include cleaning of Plaza/MOB.
10. Cleans clean/dirty storeroom and all linen locations as needed.
11. Collects waste from all areas of hospital including the Plaza/MOB, sanitizes trash cans and keeps waste disposal area orderly.
12. Collects hazardous waste in manner established by the Infection Control Committee, transports infectious waste in a special closed container to the waste area for disposal.
13. Able to follow cleaning guidelines and accept supervision to perform job duties effectively and efficiently.
14. Cleans isolation rooms after the resident has been discharged or more frequently if needed according to CDC/Hospital Policies.
15. Any other duties assigned as needed to help drive our Mission and abide by our organizations values.
