DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Description
  - The General Superintendent position requires the person to demonstrate the ability to coordinate site installs from facility development to facility equipment installs and commissioning.
  - Ensure adherence to specification and code requirements.
  - Overseeing and coordinating all of the activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Their duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites.
  - Effectively assign and monitor tasks given to personnel.
  - Monitor productivity and efficiency of operations, ensure ACI’s quality standards and procedures are maintained.
- Education
  - Preferably high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience & Qualifications
  - 10 years’ experience in Construction and steel fabrication.
    - 5-years’ experience as Superintendent or similar position
  - Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  - Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients
  - Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  - Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors to the worksite
  - Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
- Duties
  - Participate in all daily JSA meetings and JSA development for daily tasks.
  - Responsible for ensuring Quality Control tasks (dimensional checks, levelness of all material/items installed, welding appearance, heat #’s & welder stencils, etc.…) on all pipe, vessel, and packaging jobs are completed and followed by Foreman & shop personnel. Work with Quality Control Manager on all pipe, vessel, and package jobs in shop.
  - Monitor daily clock in and clock out time.
  - Ensure all personnel assigned to daily task are accounted for on daily time sheets.
  - Continually work with Construction Manager to develop efficiency and quality improvements during project sequence based on (but not limited to):
    - Daily 24hr look ahead meeting
    - Sequence of receiving fabricated material and hardware
    - CAR/NCR Feedback
    - Setup project site for workflow efficiency
  - Supervision of all project foremen.
  - Continually work with QA/QC on site to ensure fitters and welders are providing the below information: (but not limited to)
    - Heat Numbers for materials utilized
    - Pre-weld out dimensional confirmation
  - General Superintendent is to be main point of contact for all updates, clarifications, or other daily project business with the Project Management and Project Coordinator. Project Director is to be kept informed and copied in on all correspondence pertaining to project execution/Project Management.
  - Advise Construction Manager of material needs to maintain job continuity based on material requirements.
  - Keep all project equipment maintained. Advise Construction Manager of equipment failures or purchases required.
  - Obtain work pack drawings from QA/QC Department and Assign/Issue to Foreman’s and communicate any specific fabrication requirements and needs. During draw review with Foreman’s, highlight any special fabrication requirements for Fitter reference.
  - Communicate all out-of-scope occurrences/install misfits immediately with the Construction Manager for forward direction. (additional cost capture)
  - In the event of a priority or scheduling conflict of project workloads, consult with Construction Manager on situation so a solution can be made by all involved.
  - Communicate NDE scheduling and requirements with QA/QC representative.
  - Coordinate any repair work required after completion of NDE based on NDE reports/information turned in to QA/QC by NDE vendor.
  - Maintain communication with Construction Manager, Project Coordinator, and QA/QC indicating when project task WILL BE (advanced notification) completed and/or is scheduled for completion in order update the daily percentage report.
  - Monitor that project material is not removed and/or returned to designated material storage area without the approval by the Material Expeditor.
  - Coordinate with assigned Foreman on equipment needed for assigned task.
  - Coordinate and ensure finial completion of all assigned task.
  - Monitor daily housekeeping needs/requirements.
  - Monitor personnel departure/return from lunch and break time.
  - Monitor/address personnel daily and on-time attendance for work.
  - Monitor package assembly tasks being completed by Foreman and personnel including the following:
    - Return of materials to designated material area after complete assembly of packages
    - Complete assembly of packages including all valves, instruments, pumps, motors, access landings, ladders, handrails, etc. (as required per scope given by CM)
    - Spot and install I&E support clips (when required) under guidance of selected I&E Supervisor and customer representative. (as required per scope given by CM)
    - Ensure protective blinds, plugs, valves and U-bolts are installed per project requirements as indicated by responsible Construction Manager and/or drawings at completion of all task.
  - Participate in all Daily completion/24hr look ahead meetings as well as daily Safety Meetings.
  - Participate in bid work scope reviews and project kick-offs when required.
  - Maintain/Monitor consumable inventory for your project (supplies & gases)
  - Ensure Safe Work Practices and Acadian Safety Policies are observed and followed.
  - Enforce disciplinary action as required with regards to personnel required job duties, attendance, quality of work, and adherence to company policies.
  - Complete NCR/CAR investigation and documentation with responsible Foreman. Turn in documents to QA/QC Manager within 24 hours of occurrence.
    - Provide feedback on closure of NCR/CAR to QA/QC Manager for CAR closeout.
  - Monitor all repetitive and/or substantial personnel quality, accuracy, workmanship, or reliability issues to the Construction Manager and HR Department for follow up and mitigating actions to be taken through progressive discipline.
  - Maintain a positive attitude with internal and external customers by providing quality customer service.

  - Leaders must make a personal commitment and be accountability for the HSE results, driving towards achievement of HSE goals. These goals must be clearly communicated through their direct reports, with clear expectations while coaching, mentoring and empowering others to achieve the desired results.
  - Conduct periodic quality assessments of HSE processes to aid in their own coaching and mentoring of others demonstrating ownership of the results for such process implementation.
