- Reports consistently for work as scheduled
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
- Attends meetings and conferences as required
- Develops and implements office procedures and methods to ensure the efficiency of operations
- Develops and maintains the Science Center collection, including preparation and administration of the Science Center budget; reviewing, selection, and requisitioning of new science materials; maintenance of comprehensive and efficient system for cataloging all science materials; weeding of obsolete and worn materials from the collection
- Evaluates equipment and makes recommendations of purchases
- Interprets and explains district rules, regulations, and procedures to the school science staff
- Maintains inventory of supplies; orders and stocks materials and supplies in an effective manner
- Maintains Science Center shelves, and keeps work areas organized
- Maintains records necessary for effective operation of program, including annual inventory of all materials and equipment
- Maintains up-to-date records and inventory files of all science equipment
- Maintains various databases, reports and office filing systems
- Performs a variety of bookkeeping procedures within the department and tracks various district accounts and contracts; reconciles accounts and records; maintains/prepares budget records and summaries
- Performs duties with the departmental budget; tracks general fund budget for the director
- Plans and implements new systems or major upgrades of existing systems
- Prepares and processes reports which require research, computation, and compilation
- Contacts school staff regarding overdue materials/kits
- Processes purchase orders and requisitions as required, tracks orders as received, and maintains records of program purchases
- Maintains payroll or other records for guest staff and volunteers
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and to learn functionality of new equipment and systems
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to create, access, input, retrieve, and manipulate information in various software systems
- Ability to establish and maintain accurate record keeping, document management, and filing systems
