Role Title: Grants Manager

Role Summary

The Grants Manager at the Academy Prep Foundation is responsible for securing grants, funding, and resources to support our mission. This role plays a pivotal part in sustaining and expanding our programs and ensuring that every student has access to the opportunities they deserve.

Key Responsibilities

Grant Acquisition

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with the foundation’s and school's mission and programs
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive grant program strategy
  • Build and maintain relationships with grant making organizations and foundations

Grant Proposal Development

  • Prepare, write, and submit grant proposals, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Leverage Student Information System data to provide compelling statistics and outcomes in grant proposals, highlighting the impact of our programs
  • Collaborate with program managers and faculty to gather relevant information for proposals
  • Work with the finance team to create grant budgets, ensuring accurate financial projections
  • Monitor grant budgets to ensure funds are allocated and spent in accordance with grant requirements

Compliance and Reporting

  • Collaborate with faculty and administration teams to measure and report the impact of grant funded programs
  • Ensure that grant-funded programs and initiatives comply with all relevant laws and regulations and funding agreements
  • Maintain records of all grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements, while integrating Student Information System data for accurate reporting
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to grantors, providing updates on program progress and outcomes, supported by Student Information System data
  • Prepare financial reports for grantors as required

Community and Funder Engagement

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including funders, prospects, board members, staff, and community partners, to build support for grant seeking activities
  • Represent Academy Prep at community events and meetings, showcasing the impact of our programs

Outcomes of Success

  • Grants, funding, and resources are secured to support the mission
  • Grant opportunities are identified and aligned with programs
  • Grant proposals are prepared, written, and submitted in alignment with organizational goals
  • Student Information System data is leveraged to highlight program impact
  • Grant budgets are created, monitored, and aligned with requirements
  • Grant funded programs comply with laws, regulations, and agreements
  • Reports to grantors are prepared and submitted with accurate program and financial information
  • Relationships with grant making organizations, funders, and community partners are maintained

30 60 90 Day Priorities

First 30 Days

  • Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with the school's mission and programs
  • Maintain records of all grants, deadlines, and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with program managers, faculty, and finance team to gather relevant information for proposals

60 Days

  • Prepare, write, and submit grant proposals, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Work with the finance team to create grant budgets
  • Build and maintain relationships with grant making organizations and foundations

90 Days

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive grant program strategy
  • Monitor grant budgets to ensure funds are allocated and spent in accordance with grant requirements
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to grantors, providing updates on program progress and outcomes

Required Technical Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, education, or public administration. Masters degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 or more years of experience in grant writing and management, preferably in a nonprofit or educational setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with Student Information System or similar student data management systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for and commitment to the Academy Prep mission

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
