Position Summary The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate physical education program for students in Transitional Kindergarten through 7th grade. The ideal candidate inspires a lifelong appreciation for health, fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship while fostering confidence, resilience, and healthy habits in every student. As a member of a small private school community, the Physical Education Teacher collaborates closely with faculty, staff, and families to support the whole child and contribute positively to the life of the school. Essential Responsibilities -Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. -Develop age-appropriate curriculum that promotes physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles. -Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of diverse learners. -Foster an inclusive, positive, and encouraging environment where all students feel successful. -Teach and reinforce safety procedures and proper use of equipment. -Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback on physical development and participation. -Organize and maintain PE equipment and ensure facilities remain clean and safe. -Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff to support student growth and well-being. -Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and participation. -Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and community activities. -Assist with planning and coordinating school-wide events such as field day, fun runs, athletic competitions, or wellness initiatives. -Model professionalism, integrity, and positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
