We are seeking a dynamic English Instructor who can teach multi levels of ELA content, work collaboratively in a co-teaching environment focusing on STEM education, and provide intervention support to scholars in their career tech courses. The ideal candidate will be able to implement project-based learning activities that offer real-world application opportunities to enhance student engagement and understanding.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
- Deliver engaging ELA lessons across various levels to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues in a co-teaching setting to create a comprehensive STEM education curriculum.
- Provide intervention instruction to support scholars in their career tech courses, ensuring their academic success.
- Design and implement project-based learning activities that integrate ELA concepts with real-world applications.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed to facilitate effective learning outcomes.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Utilize technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience for students.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support the overall academic development of scholars.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in ELA education and STEM integration.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and actively participate in data-driven decision-making processes.
Classroom Management:
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation.
- Establish clear expectations for behavior and academic performance and enforce consistent classroom rules and routines.
- Manage student behavior effectively, address conflicts, and provide positive reinforcement.
- Maintain an organized and conducive learning environment.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Assess student progress regularly using a variety of assessment tools and techniques.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their growth and development.
- Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and differentiate instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student performance data and identify strategies for improvement.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Establish effective communication channels with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.
- Regularly communicate student progress, behavioral concerns, and academic achievements to parents and guardians.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary projects and activities.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as required.
- Ability to effectively communicate ideas, thoughts, opinions with openness to understand others while being understood
Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related field (master’s degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification/license in English/Language Arts or relevant area.
Proven experience teaching ELA across multiple levels, preferably in a STEM-focused environment.
Ability to collaborate with colleagues in a co-teaching atmosphere.
Strong understanding of project-based learning methodologies and real-world applications in ELA education.
