Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Orlando, FL, for a Special Education Teacher. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet the specific needs of students with disabilities. Key tasks include teaching a variety of subjects to students, utilizing effective communication strategies, and fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Collaboration with parents, support staff, and other educators is integral to ensuring the academic and personal growth of students.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in working with students with Disabilities and expertise in Special Education practices
- Experience in Teaching and curriculum development, specifically for Middle School level
- Strong Communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues
- A bachelor’s degree in special education, teaching, or a related field
- Familiarity with creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting students with unique learning needs
- Relevant teaching certification and experience working with children with autism is a plus
