Location: EAC (Education and Administration Center) Recruiting Start Date: 03/13/2026 Estimated Start Date: 06/01/2026 Vacancy 1: Start Date of June 1, 2026 with an Elementary focus Vacancy 2: Start Date of August 1, 2026 with an Elementary focus The Digital Innovation Specialist is responsible for providing leadership in integrating technology into teaching and learning across all educational settings. This role involves coaching, training, and developing curriculum integration strategies to help teachers and instructional staff, including Digital Learning Coaches, effectively use technology. The specialist collaborates with instructional staff for planning, co-teaching, and modeling strategies to integrate technology into teaching and learning. This position involves collaboration with other district-level staff to support the school improvement process. Reports consistently for work as scheduled Performs other duties as assigned Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards Collaborates with Information Technology (IT) department staff on technical issues relating to instructional and digital resource applications Collaborates with other Learning Services staff to coordinate the integration of instructional technology into standards-based curricula Creates educational materials and guides to help instructional staff effectively use digital resources Designs and implements district- and school-based professional learning opportunities for Digital Learning Coaches (DLCs) and other instructional staff in support of the school site plan and standards-based curricula Develops and supports the Digital Innovation Services (DIS) Team vision for the integration of educational technology and digital resources Leads and supports digital citizenship education across the District Leads innovation with instructional practices utilizing new and existing digital resources Models and shares best practices for integrating instructional technology and digital resources into the curricula Provides guidance for policy considerations with regard to student and staff use of digital resources Provides guidance for student data privacy and student personally identifiable information (SPII) Provides leadership to, and facilitates communications among Digital Learning Coaches (DLCs) Researches and evaluates the effectiveness of digital applications, instructional technologies, and related initiatives Supports implementation of school site plans Supports multi-school purchasing/licensing of instructional technology and digital resources Supports technology and digital resource grants Works collaboratively with the Director for Digital Innovation Services and other team members on projects related to the integration of educational technology and digital resources Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to follow instructions and interact courteously with the public Basic troubleshooting and project management skills Commitment to student education Demonstrates key values (citizenship, compassion, courage, discernment, excellence, honesty, hope, integrity, patience, perseverance, reliability, respect, responsibility, trustworthiness) Effective working relationships with diverse individuals (supervisors, administrators, coworkers, staff, students, parents, public) Energetic, creative, innovative, flexible Excellent cooperative, collaborative, and problem-solving skills Instructional leadership and detail-oriented Knowledge of Digital Citizenship/Wellness Knowledge of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Knowledge of technology in education, state/national standards, and learning management systems Maintain confidentiality and manage multiple demands Operate office equipment and train others Proficient in using and integrating various digital tools including AI platforms Proficient in various software systems, operating systems, and devices Proven ability to plan and deliver professional development Strong customer service orientation Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written, auditory, verbal) Understanding of data privacy laws Vision, problem-solving, and initiative Willingness to seek training and share knowledge Work independently and as directed by supervisors Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a staff member typically encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
