Hours are
Mondays 9-7
Wed 9-7
Thurs 9-7
Fri 8-2
Alternating Tues/sat 9-2
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, materials, and supplies to ensure smooth dental procedures.
- Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and other medical imaging to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate medical records, dental charts, and documentation in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure strict infection control protocols through aseptic technique and proper sterilization of instruments.
- Provide chairside assistance by managing patient comfort, taking vital signs, and explaining procedures clearly using dental terminology.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow as a dental receptionist, and handling medical coding for insurance claims.
Requirements
- Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental assisting procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix, along with Epic or other medical documentation platforms.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Skills in radiography including X-ray techniques and familiarity with 3D scanners for advanced imaging needs.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques essential for safe practice.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings as well as specialized areas like prosthodontics or pediatrics.
