Academy Camps is an overnight sports-specific sleepaway camp experience that takes place on the campus of Suffield Academy (CT).

Positions available
Every summer, we hire 40 staff to deliver our camp program to hundreds of dedicated athletes. These jobs are typically posted between August and October of the year preceding camp (about 9-10 months before your start date). These positions include:
- Camp Director
- Associate Director

- Residential Life Director
- Administrative Director
- Sports Directors (all 8 sports)
- Coaches and Dorm Counselors (all 8 sports)
- Performance Mindset Coaches
- Strength & Conditioning Coaches
- Wellness Coaches
- Outdoor Leadership (High Ropes Course & Rock Wall) Coaches
- Lifeguards
- Head Nurses & Nurses
- Athletic Trainers
- Operations Assistants
- Program Assistants
- Admin Assistants
- Photographers & Videographers & Media Team Staff
- Drivers
Our full-time roles are often made available first to staff hired in the summer, giving them the option to step into year-round roles where they shape and grow Academy Camps at the highest level. This full-time team does everything to keep the business running and growing in the off-season from sales, marketing, customer support, recruiting, project and program management.
Qualifications & Expectations
While the specific qualifications will vary for each role, everyone on our team has the following in common:

- Ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive camp culture
- Willingness to engage in all aspects of camp life, from coaching to team-building activities
Dates & Commitment
For our summer positions, all staff are required to attend Pre-Season Training (an all-staff orientation) before campers arrive. Specific contract dates will be discussed during the interview and outlined in your offer letter.
- 2026 Staff Dates: June 22 - August 8 (Sports Directors, Ropes Course, and Lifeguard Staff arrive June 20. Leadership Team Staff arrive June 18)
- Camp Leadership Team: start remote onboarding as early as May 1
