Compensation: $53,314 - $56,016 annually (DOE)

At AMS Little Rock, K-5 teachers are self-contained and teach all core subjects, while students rotate to elective classes.
Position OverviewThe 2nd Grade Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, differentiated instruction across core subject areas while fostering a joyful, structured, and academically focused classroom environment. This role requires a collaborative educator who can support both academic growth and social-emotional development for elementary students.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Student Learning- Use AMS curriculum and standards to plan, internalize, and deliver rigorous, differentiated instruction.
- Provide instruction across core subject areas in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Use specific and measurable data to monitor student performance and adjust instruction for visible results.
- Administer formative and summative assessments aligned to the school's assessment calendar.
- Participate in data analysis protocols with leadership and peers to drive continuous improvement in student outcomes.
- Uphold high expectations for student conduct and use PBIS and intervention strategies to support social-emotional development.
- Create an organized, clean, and joyful classroom print environment aligned to campus-wide systems and expectations.
- Support students' academic and behavioral growth through structured classroom routines and strong relationship-building.
- Attend weekly professional development and participate in grade-level team and professional learning community meetings.
- Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, calls, emails, and parent-student-teacher conferences.
- Collaborate with administrators and staff to meet students' academic and behavioral needs.
- Maintain accurate weekly grade records that reflect mastery of standards and communicate student progress effectively.
- Perform other role-related duties as assigned in support of school and student success.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Demonstrated content knowledge in education and/or elementary instruction through degree, certification, or teaching experience
- Ability to pass required background checks
- Master's Degree or higher in Education preferred
- At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience preferred
- Arkansas State Teaching Certification preferred
- Strong instructional planning and classroom management skills
- Data-driven decision-making and progress monitoring
