2026-2027 Paraprofessional MCMS

LOCATION: Maumelle Charter Middle School - 900 Edgewood Drive - Maumelle, AR 72113

Academics Plus Charter Schools, Inc. (APCSI) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Paraprofessional grades 4-7.

The position of the Paraprofessional is to assist in providing a well-organized, smooth functioning classroom environment in which all children can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.

QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma with at least 60 college hours or Associate Degree or have passed the ParaPro Praxis Exam.

REPORTS TO: School Principal

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrate a relentless commitment to the academic achievement of all students.
• Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
• Articulate a positive image of the school and personnel.
• Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, and instructional activities.
• Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher.
• Assist with the administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Assist in supervising students throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom, including cafeteria, bus duty, and playground.
• Keep the teacher informed of any special needs or problems of individual students.
• Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist the teacher in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports.
• Communicate positively with students, parents, visitors and staff.
• Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
• Effectively and positively communicate orally and in writing.
• Other duties as assigned by principals.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands: Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing; move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
