The successful candidate will serve as a key academic and clinical leader, advancing forensic psychology training, clinical supervision, and interdisciplinary research, while shaping programs and curriculum within one of Kansas’s most established and respected psychology departments. 

Wichita State’s Psychology Department features 14 specialized research laboratories and clinics, a vibrant in-house clinical training clinic serving the Wichita community, and an Applied Psychology Research Institute- all supporting faculty in high-impact research, collaborative projects, and externally funded initiatives. Wichita State’s forward momentum includes the upcoming 470,000 square foot Wichita Biomedical Campus in downtown Wichita—a transformative investment in health sciences, expanding opportunities for interdisciplinary partnerships, clinical outreach, and community engagement. 

The department is deeply committed to research and training that addresses the needs of all populations and has three Ph.D. programs in clinical, community, and human factors psychology, as well as a large undergraduate student body. Close partnerships with local and state law enforcement agencies further enhance the department’s reach and relevance in forensic psychology. This role is ideal for an experienced clinician-scholar ready to supervise post-doctoral fellows, lead high-impact research, and contribute meaningfully to graduate and undergraduate teaching. 

This position reports to the Psychology Department Chair.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Clinical supervision of two postdoctoral fellows funded by the department
  • Maintaining an active program of research
  • Teaching at both graduate and undergraduate level courses

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in forensic psychology, clinical psychology, or a related field
  • Licensed or license eligible 
  • Strong record of peer-reviewed publications
