Reports to: General Manager

Job Description

Summary/objective

Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the performance of the prep team members and patient participants. This role serves as the subject matter expert on the prep program and is responsible for the successful program growth.

  • Provide strong leadership with excellent communication skills and problem solving abilities
  • Responsible for the hiring and training of team members
  • Develop an adequate staffing plan and team schedule 
  • Monitor team member productivity, provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Create and foster a team culture which is centered on achieving goals with high level of customer service
  • Conduct periodic and annual team performance evaluations
  • Keep team and members informed of events and activities and encourage participation
  • Support and handle member issues; make decisions in consideration of the club’s policies and procedures 
  • Create and support special events to promote department and club
  • Maintain regularly scheduled hours on department schedule
  • Maintain expert level knowledge in all aspects of the prep program and successfully execute program for participants
  • Proactively build and maintain member and participant relationships
  • Follow program protocols for participants, including performing intake, mid-take, end-take appointments, and conducting participant sessions
  • Demonstrate proper operation of fitness equipment, such as resistance machines, cardio machines, free weights, or fitness assessment devices
  • Maintain active sales and participant records for department budgeting and reporting purposes
  • Meet and exceed department enrollment and membership goals
  • Collaborate with department managers to troubleshoot club related issues and ensure an overall high level of success for the club
  • Operate within budget guidelines for the purchasing supplies, operational costs, pricing outside vendors and contractors

Requirements

Physical demands

  • Must have full range of motion in order to properly demonstrate exercises or use of machines
  • Must be able to stand, move, walk, and bend for the duration of a shift
  • Must have ability and willingness to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Required competencies, education, and experience

  • College degree preferred, High school diploma or GED required 
  • Current certification from nationally recognized fitness organization required
  • Prior professional experience in health, fitness or related field preferred 
  • Must be exceptionally customer service oriented
  • Must be friendly and approachable 
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Proficient computer skills

  • Deliver five-star service to members and guests with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanor at all times
