Director of Growth - Creative Strategy
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid - 4 days per week in office)
This is a team leadership role both hands on and strategic driving creative strategy for a high-growth, AI-driven, DTC ecommerce company in the beauty space.

They are a fast-scaling, consumer-facing brand operating at the intersection of science, technology, and direct-to-consumer commerce. Built within a proven DTC platform with multiple successful brand launches behind it, we are developing a new model for consumer engagement — one that combines rigorous diagnostics, data-driven personalization, and performance marketing at scale.
About the Role
This is not a traditional marketing leadership position.
The Director of Growth will own the company's creative strategy, especially as it relates to the customer acquisition and performance marketing engine. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this individual will lead and develop the growth function, evaluate organizational needs, and build scalable systems to support the next stage of business growth.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, strategically minded, operationally rigorous, and deeply knowledgeable about modern customer acquisition. They should be equally comfortable evaluating performance metrics, developing testing strategies, reviewing creative assets, assessing team structure, and presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Creative Testing & Optimization
- Lead the creative development process from insight generation and concept development through launch, analysis, and iteration.
- Build and manage a structured testing framework across messaging, offers, audiences, landing pages, creative formats, and funnel stages.
- Translate performance data into actionable recommendations that improve acquisition efficiency and growth outcomes.
- Establish repeatable processes for rapid experimentation and continuous optimization.
Growth Strategy & Acquisition
- Own and scale customer acquisition efforts across paid social and digital channels, including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, and emerging platforms.
- Develop and execute growth strategies that drive efficient customer acquisition and sustainable revenue growth.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align acquisition efforts with broader business objectives.
Performance Analysis
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, including acquisition costs, conversion rates, engagement metrics, funnel performance, retention indicators, and overall marketing efficiency.
- Identify trends, opportunities, and areas of concern, providing strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights.
- Collaborate with channel owners to optimize budget allocation and improve overall marketing effectiveness.
Influencer & Content Programs
- Develop scalable creator, influencer, user-generated content, and partnership strategies.
- Evaluate content performance and establish testing methodologies that drive measurable business results.
- Work with internal and external partners to maintain a high volume of performance-oriented creative assets.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing growth organization.
- Assess team structure and identify hiring opportunities that support future growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, experimentation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate performance updates, strategic priorities, and growth opportunities to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong creative instincts and experience working with direct-response, social-first, and performance-oriented content.
- 7 years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, customer acquisition, or related disciplines.
- 3 years of leadership experience with direct ownership of growth outcomes and business performance.
- Deep expertise in paid social advertising, particularly Meta and TikTok, with strong knowledge of campaign optimization and testing methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to use data to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Experience building and managing large-scale creative testing programs.
- Understanding of the relationship between creative, media buying, conversion optimization, offer strategy, and customer acquisition performance.
- Proven ability to assess, hire, and develop talent across multiple levels.
- Strong organizational and operational management skills.
- Excellent executive communication and presentation abilities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within consumer technology, digital services, subscriptions, direct-to-consumer brands, health and wellness, or other high-growth consumer environments.
- Familiarity with influencer marketing, creator ecosystems, user-generated content programs, AI-enabled creative workflows, or performance marketing agencies.
Target Comp: $150 - 180k base
$40 - $100k Bonus Potential
Salary : $140,000 - $180,000
