AC Equipment is seeking an experienced Diesel & Construction equipment mechanic to join our dynamic team. As a Diesel & Construction equipment mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of the equipment and engine brands we represent and support. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, extensive knowledge of heavy-equipment diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Diesel & Construction Equipment Mechanic Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues across all company-supported equipment (track loaders, excavators, wheel loaders, chippers, stump grinders, Diesel engines, small engines and 2-cycle engines)
- Perform all routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, inspections)
- Identify potential issues through thorough equipment inspections to prevent future breakdowns
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment using technical manuals and schematics
- Document all activities accurately and maintain detailed records
- Achieve and adhere to the allocated flat rate or estimated hours for each repair task
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Complete other duties and special projects as assigned
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise as a Diesel & construction equipment mechanic
- Proven track record in diesel, hydraulic/hydrostatic, fuel, and electrical repair skills
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Proficient with computers and interpreting schematics/technical manuals
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Technical training certificates with emphasis on diesel engines, hydraulic/hydrostatic, fuel, and electrical systems preferred
- Must possess standard tools for equipment repairs
- Capable of working in indoor and outdoor settings, exposed to varying weather and work elements (dust, dirt, noise)
- Ability to work overtime as business needs require
- Must pass background and drug screening
