Summary

The Recovery Consultant is responsible for assisting the company in all matters of corporate operations, communications, workload and resource management, and all special projects. As the Recovery Consultant they provide advice and analytical services to private businesses and government agencies on how to deal with emergency situations or any emergency management functions or disciplines. You also advise them on how to improve the plan or procedure for different types of emergencies. You may also help organizations or communities prepare grant applications or other financial requests to state and federal agencies to improve disaster preparedness. Each Consultant will have a specific work portfolio based on skills sets and needs. The position will be guided in all activities by ACDC’s Corporate Values Platform.

Compensation: $65k-$80k per year
Travel/Location: Remote with travel up to 50% travel/deployment

Requirements
Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities

- Assist with all corporate and program operations related to the Recovery Division and general emergency management consulting services as needed.
- Assist all Divisions in direct client support and deliverables, as needed.
- Assist on portions of projects and ensure all aspects are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.
- Attend meetings and conference calls with clients.
- Assist in developing state and local response and pre- and post-disaster recovery plans, procedures, checklists, and guidance documents, as needed.
- Maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
- Support recipients or subrecipients of FEMA Public Assistance funded programs with emergency and permanent work projects.
- During a disaster, you may be called into the field to support relief efforts or assist with organizing responses to support advanced roles in emergency situations and/or activations.
- Gain experience, train for, and become knowledgeable in all areas of Emergency Management.
- Maintain/pursue ongoing knowledge, credentials, and development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Required
- 3-5 years' intermediate to advanced-level knowledge/experience in Emergency Managment with experience with FEMA Public Assistance funded programs and FEMA Grants Portal.
- Intermediate to advanced level customer service experience.
- Intermediate to advanced level project management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, or a related field.
- Equivalency: Professional experience beyond minimum requirements, in a related field may substitute the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
- Intermediate-Level knowledge and/or exposure in one or more Emergency Management Disciplines.
- Beginner to intermediate level knowledge of recovery and/or response programs including FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) public assistance.
- Strong experience in preparation, analysis, and development of technical writing for grant funding, studies, and broad planning efforts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
Experience and Education Preferred
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
- Intermediate experience in invoicing.
- Intermediate experience with QC contract review.
- Intermediate level knowledge or experience with accounting/finance.
- Business development experience.
- Proficient with Salesforce.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The Consultant has no direct supervisory responsibility but may get exposure to leading portions of projects or task functions.
Expected Hours of Work
Schedule may vary and require work on evenings and weekends and dependability and punctuality are paramount.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 50% travel is expected for this position.
- Deployment to client sites for extended periods of time is required.
Physical Demands
- Mobility required on-site with clients.
- Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
- Ability to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time if needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.
Work Environment
- Emergency management consultants may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
- Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.

- Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
