Safely and efficiently move supplies and finished products within the Converting department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Supply packaging supplies to lines per production schedule and traveler.
- Using hoists, load lines with mill rolls of film per production schedule and traveler.
- Can match c-label from mill roll to traveler and perform registered/nonregistered mill roll changes
- Perform coupon label splicing procedure.
- Remove finished cartons from conveyor and stack on skids according to approved packaging plans.
- Using hand truck move finished skids to stretch wrapper.
- Stretch wrap finished skids and generate appropriate shipping paperwork using computer inventory.
- Assist in basic maintenance of conveyor and carton taping system.
- Weigh and document reclaim for operators generated by production lines in assigned areas.
- Weigh and document scrap generated in scrap tanks.
- Load cartons into robotic line carton erectors.
- Fill cap and bobbin bowls of PC area robotic lines.
- Maintain punch chip collection system.
- Inform group leader/supervisor of problems requiring assistance.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of plant and departmental safety procedures and guidelines.
- Work overtime as required.
- Communicate effectively with off-going and in-coming shift personnel.
- Maintain clean, safe work area.
- May be required to train others upon request.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one-year experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience driving a forklift truck
- This position has operations that require muscular coordination, proper lifting techniques and required lifting up to 50 pounds time to time. Hoist is available for use.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and bend
- Climbing and descending forklift truck repetitively up to 9 hours a day
- The noise level in the working environment is usually loud (80-90 decibels) and employees are required to always wear hearing protection in the plant
- The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes and or airborne particles
