Overview

The primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance Technician is to represent the interests and expectations of the customer within the plant, ensuring product quality and compliance with specifications. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review production schedules and prepare quality checklists.
  • Review job tickets and technical specifications to ensure compliance.
  • Perform in-process quality checks according to customer and technical specifications, including but not limited to:
    • Roll conformity
    • Packout
    • Slitting dimensions
  • Assist other QA Technicians with in-process inspections such as:
    • Print quality
    • Color accuracy
    • Lamination bonds
    • Coefficient of friction
    • Gas chromatography analysis
    • Heat seals
  • Identify and contain non-conforming materials.
  • Communicate findings and quality trends with operators and shift supervisors.
  • Prepare and distribute Certificates of Analysis.
  • Support manufacturing with problem-solving activities related to quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage the filing of retain samples.
  • Report safety near misses and observations.
  • Participate in food safety audits and compliance procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following prescribed safety guidelines.
  • Provide regular communication and periodic reports as directed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
