Role Description: The Director of Finance and Accounting is a full-time, on-site role based in Arlington, WA, responsible for leading all financial and accounting operations for ABW Technologies, Inc. This role oversees the preparation and review of financial statements, manages budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensures timely and accurate financial reporting. The director will implement and monitor internal controls, support strategic decision-making through financial analysis, and maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising the accounting team, managing cash flow, partnering with senior leadership on financial planning, and providing clear insights on profitability, cost structures, and operational performance. The role involves collaborating with operational and engineering teams to align financial objectives with business goals and long-term growth plans.
Qualifications, Skillsets and Aptitudes:
The optimal candidate will have several years of demonstrable success as part of a key leadership team in a briskly growing private company in the industrial technology or manufacturing space.
The position reports directly to the CEO and central to success in this role is a keen understanding of what it takes to develop and implement enterprise infrastructure that supports current momentum and future opportunities. Versatility and a functional approach to the immediate and anticipated needs of the enterprise is a core requirement.
Base annual salary range of $180,000–$215,000, depending on experience, plus an annual performance incentive opportunity of up to 15%. - Previous experience in a comprehensive finance and accounting domain at the P&L level, particularly within a project based WIP environment
- Preferred 10 years’ experience in an industrial technology and/or manufacturing environment
- Experience and competency with financial and operational budgeting, forecasting and tracking
- Competency with treasury and working capital management, capital investments and ROI modelling
- Past responsibility for banking, insurance and audit partner relationships
- Experience with tax strategies, regulatory compliance and 3rd party audit oversight
- Proficiency with MS office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint etc.) and core accounting software applications. Experience utilizing and leveraging BI systems a plus
- Must possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects utilizing effective organizational and communication skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability regarding timely and accurate completion of work and a strong commitment to company goals.
- Must be capable of functioning well within fast paced and occasionally intensive working conditions.
- Candidates should possess expertise in financial statements and financial reporting, including GAAP compliance and audit coordination.
- Candidates should possess advanced analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support data-driven decisions.
- Candidates should possess leadership and people management skills, with experience guiding accounting or finance teams.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; a CPA or CMA credential is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, aerospace, or related industries, and familiarity with ERP systems, is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities, with a commitment to ethical financial practices and continuous improvement.
