Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Closing Teacher to join our early childhood education team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for guiding children through their final activities of the day, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment as they transition from classroom to home. Duties
- Lead children in closing activities, including story time. Gym, outside, organized free play, clean-up routines, and shutting down the classroom.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of children during transition periods and final classroom activities
- Communicate effectively with parents making them feel welcomed.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports early childhood development and classroom management
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and safety protocols, including first aid and CPR procedures when necessary
- Support children with special needs by implementing individualized care plans and behavior management strategies
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare centers, preschools, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of child supervision techniques, classroom management, and behavior management strategies
- Familiarity with pediatric first aid and CPR certification requirements (or willingness to obtain)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents and team members about child progress and concerns
- Background in early childhood education, including preschool experience or nannying/babysitting roles involving young children
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and well-being
