Paris Group Homes is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. We currently have one open overnight position for Monday - Thursday 11:00 pm - 9:00 am.
The DSP plays a vital role in providing assistance and support to individuals with disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and quality of life. This position involves working closely with clients in group home settings. The DSP is responsible for promoting independence while delivering compassionate care tailored to each individual’s needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Monitor and document vital signs as required to ensure client health and safety.
- Provide support in a home health or hospice care environment, ensuring comfort and dignity for clients.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of living spaces to create a safe environment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to develop individualized care plans.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary to support clients with mobility challenges.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy at all times.
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of hospice care practices is a plus.
- Ability to perform vital sign assessments accurately.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to client advocacy and support.
- Familiarity with group home or long-term care settings is beneficial.
- Basic cleaning skills to maintain hygienic living spaces.
