Medical Billing Coordinator
Location: Broomall, PA

Salary Range: $52,000 – $58,000 annually

Job Description: The Medical Billing Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all billing functions for Abundant Life Family Services’ ABA clinical services. This role ensures accurate claim submission, payment posting, follow-up on unpaid claims, and timely resolution of billing discrepancies. The coordinator will also assist with the client intake process and support families in navigating the billing system, demonstrating compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle medical billing for ABA services, including charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, and follow-up.
- Ensure all claims comply with payer requirements and documentation standards.
- Reconcile payments, denials, and adjustments, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
- Communicate with insurance providers, payers, and families regarding claims status and benefits.
- Collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure accurate service documentation for billing.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance regulations, payer rules, and ABA billing compliance requirements.
- Track authorizations, ensure timely renewals, and manage verification of benefits.
- Provide intake support for new families, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information.
- Address family inquiries related to billing, payments, and coverage with empathy and professionalism.
- Prepare and analyze regular billing and collections reports for leadership review.
- Maintain confidentiality and data integrity in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support clinic operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ABA medical billing within an ABA or behavioral health setting.
- Knowledge of insurance claim processes, CPT codes, and EOB reconciliation.
- Strong proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
- Experience with ABA-specific billing systems and payer portals.
- Familiarity with credentialing and payer enrollment processes.
- Prior work experience supporting families or clients in a healthcare environment.
Work Environment:
- This position is in-office, supporting internal billing and intake operations.
- Standard business hours, Monday through Friday.
- Occasional flexibility required based on organizational needs.
