Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous (IV) vitamin and mineral solutions, fluids, and therapies accurately in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
- Prepare and draw up vitamin and mineral solutions following approved dosing protocols and clinical best practice guidelines.
- Set up IV fluid bags and lines, ensuring proper technique and adherence to safety standards.
- Monitor patients throughout infusion procedures, including assessing vital signs and promptly managing any adverse reactions.
- Provide patient care during IV vitamin infusions, ensuring comfort, safety, and a positive clinical experience.
- Document all nursing interventions thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR), utilizing eClinicalWorks in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients and their families on infusion treatments, potential side effects, and appropriate after-care instructions.
- Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and support personalized patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing records in alignment with best practice standards.
- Perform weekly inventory and stock checks to ensure adequate supply levels.
- Oversee routine maintenance of the infusion room, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and safety meet and exceed clinical best practice guidelines.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling to support clinic needs and patient demand.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques to prevent infections during sterile procedures like phlebotomy.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for billing purposes.
Pay: $40.00 - $51.00 per hour
