Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism and behavioral health needs, in various settings such as homes, community centers, or day programs
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation to promote independence
- Implement behavior management strategies and support positive behavioral health through personalized interventions
- Support communication efforts using techniques like American Sign Language or other augmentative communication methods
- Collect and document data on progress, behaviors, and service outcomes accurately for ongoing care planning
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining strict adherence to safety guidelines
- Drive individuals to appointments, community activities, or recreational outings safely and responsibly
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism is highly valued
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members
- Ability to perform caregiving tasks with compassion and patience in diverse environments
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and data collection methods
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation responsibilities
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and home & community care experience is a plus
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Active automobile insurance required
- Reliable transportation and willingness to transport individuals served to appointments, community outings, and activities
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, and holidays (as needed)
- Ability to pass criminal background checks and required screenings
Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
