Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support our Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure our products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality standards. In this role, you will perform inspections, document results, identify nonconforming materials, and help maintain product and process excellence within a manufacturing environment.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring consistency, compliance, and customer satisfaction across both internally manufactured and vendor-supplied products.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Testing

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI) for new or changed products, processes, or suppliers
  • Inspect materials, components, and finished goods for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, labeling, and functionality
  • Utilize inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, scales, and visual standards
  • Verify product characteristics such as filament retention, trim, material type, and overall quality

Quality System Support

  • Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and QMS documentation
  • Assist with nonconforming material control (identify, tag, segregate, document)
  • Support corrective actions and root cause investigations
  • Participate in customer return analysis and reporting
  • Support calibration programs and ensure equipment is compliant
  • Assist with internal audits and supplier quality monitoring
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or technical production preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in brush manufacturing or related industries preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or formal QMS systems
  • Experience performing first article inspections (FAI)
  • Knowledge of calibration systems, audits, document control, and nonconforming material processes
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methods

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout production areas
  • Ability to lift and handle materials and products as needed
  • Ability to visually inspect products for quality and defects
  • Comfortable using inspection tools and equipment

Work Environment

This role operates in both an office and manufacturing setting. Exposure to noise, machinery, dust, and production equipment is expected. Appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) must be used as required.
