Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the electrical estimating department, including estimating processes, pricing strategies, and workload prioritization
- Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates, bids, and proposals from plans, specifications, and field walkthroughs
- Visit customer sites to review scope, assess conditions, and build strong client relationships
- Actively pursue new work by networking with customers, contractors, and industry partners
- Collaborate with project management and operations teams to ensure smooth project handoff
- Develop and maintain cost databases, labor units, and vendor pricing
- Identify value engineering opportunities to improve competitiveness and profitability
- Mentor and train junior estimators or support staff as the department grows
- Stay current with market conditions, material pricing, labor trends, and electrical codes
- 7 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction
- Proven experience leading or managing estimating efforts or departments
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, labor productivity, and construction methods
- Proficiency with electrical estimating and takeoff software (Accubid, McCormick, PlanSwift, or similar)
- Excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills
- Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites and meetings
- Valid driver’s license
- Competitive salary range of $75,000 – $100,000, based on experience and qualifications
