Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, overhaul, and maintain:
- Air-cooled chillers
- Water-cooled chillers
- Centrifugal chillers
- Screw and scroll chillers
- Perform start-ups and commissioning of new and existing equipment
- Conduct major repairs including compressor rebuilds and tube bundle work
- Troubleshoot advanced controls, VFDs, and building automation system integration
- Analyze oil samples and refrigeration circuits
- Perform vibration analysis and system performance diagnostics
- Maintain detailed service documentation and reports
- Provide technical guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, recommendations, and system performance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of commercial/industrial chiller experience
- Strong working knowledge of:
- Refrigeration cycles
- Oil management systems
- Microprocessor controls
- VFDs
- BAS systems
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and industrial settings
- Be a current member of Pipe Fitters Local 211 or willing to become a member
- OEM training certifications
- Experience with magnetic bearing chillers
- Ability to mentor and train apprentices and junior technicians
