Job Summary
As the Dispatch / Operations Team Lead, you will be the driving force behind our logistics and transportation operations. Your leadership will ensure seamless dispatching, effective communication, and efficient management of our brokerage. You’ll leverage your expertise in transportation management systems and supply chain processes to optimize operations and enhance service delivery. What you’ll do
- Supervise and mentor the dispatch/operations team
- Manage day-to-day freight operations: booking, tracking, scheduling, and issue resolution
- Coordinate with carriers and customers to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries
- Monitor team KPIs: on-time performance, margin targets, carrier compliance, etc.
- Support account managers with load coverage and problem-solving
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new dispatchers
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability
- Maintain accurate records and data in the TMS (Transportation Management System)
Basic qualifications
- Strong typing skills with proficiency in multi-line phone systems.
- Strong understanding of load boards, TMS platforms, and carrier vetting procedures
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Preferred qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a freight brokerage, dispatch, or logistics operations role
- 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Proven ability to analyze data effectively to drive operational improvements.
Job Type: Full-time
Base Pay: $58,240.00 - $66,560.00 per year
