What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Damage Technician position at Absolutely Dry?
We are a local restoration business that provides damage restoration services to all of NWI and parts of SW Michigan. We provide services such as water extraction, mold remediation, biohazard cleanup and more. We are looking for responsible individuals who want to advance their career and grow with our team.
This position is labor intensive and working spaces can be uncomfortable, such as a hot attic or a cold basement. If you are not a person who can handle labor intensive work or environments that are not temperature controlled, this position is not for you and you should not apply. We do perform background and MVR checks. If you have been convicted of a felony, have a poor driving record, or require an SR22 please do not apply.
We are looking for reliable people who want to work and complete projects timely and with integrity. You should know how to use basic hand tools and you should be willing to learn how to properly use our equipment. Previous experience in the remediation/restoration industry is a plus and highly preferred but not required. We will train the right candidates Veterans are highly encouraged to apply
Requirements:
- Drivers license with a clean driving record - NO exceptions No SR22's and no DUI's. We cannot hire you if we cannot insure you.
- Pass a background check - NO felonies
- Pass a drug test - no exceptions
- Ability to be on an on-call rotation
- Familiarity with common hand tools
- Must be able to lift at least 75lbs
- Must be able to follow directions
- IICRC certifications preferred but not required
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to complete labor intensive tasks
Job Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Water extraction
- Structural drying
- Mold remediation
- Fire cleanup
- Controlled demolition
- Cleaning customers' contents at our warehouse or on site
- Packing/Unpacking contents for storage and transportation- this requires the ability to lift and move heavy items
- Adhere to safety and risk management guidelines
- Perform end of day/job cleanup and breakdown
