Position Description: Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical tasks in the offices of Medical Practitioners. You are responsible for clinical and clerical tasks as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Arrive 15 minutes before clinic hours to begin operating duties
Prepare patients for physical exams and update charts with current medical history; so chart is up to date for provider
Make sure all exam rooms are clean, stocked with appropriate supplies prior to next patient entering room
Answer all incoming calls, e-mails, and correspondence in a timely manner
Make all call back calls assigned by the Nurse Team Leader
Document, clearances, medical records and record all patient care dcoumentation
Copy and prepare medical record requests assigned by Nurse Team Leader
Relieve front desk receptionist for necessary breaks or absences
Qualifications:
Medical Assistant Experience
X-Ray Certification
Must be able to easily interact with people making them feel comfortable in stressful situations, reacting calmly and effectively in emergency situations
Must be detail oriented, being able to accurately record information about patients
Must make patients feel welcome and valued, must treat them with kindness and compassion
Must be able to communicate with excellent listening and verbal skills that allow you to share pertinent information with patients, co-workers and providers
Be able to multi-task simultaneously in a fast pasted environment
Must have sufficient computer skills in order to complete all tasks assigned
Working Conditions:
This position requires unconditional working hours, which include but are not limited to holidays, evenings, shift work and weekend hours. Travel between clinics and challenging clients. A top priority in being efficient and detail oriented. This is not a desk job, even though some time is spend at a desk as well.
