Workers’ Compensation Nurse Case Manager (RN)Salary range:Absolute Staffing is searching for a Workers’ Compensation Nurse Case Manager on behalf of our client.About Our Client:Our client has grown from its Pennsylvania base since 1979 to become one of the largest private workers’ compensation management firms in America. They help insurance carriers, self-insured employers, government entities, and TPAs manage workplace injuries, control costs, and maintain productivity, while building valuable and lasting service partnerships.Salary Range: $68,000–$70,000Requirements:Must be an RN with at least one year of clinical nursing experienceLocated in or reasonably near Pittsburgh, PAValid PA driver’s license and vehicle for transportationValid Pennsylvania RN license/certificationResponsibilities:Coordinate medical care, recovery, and return-to-work of injured workersThis is a work-from-home position requiring daily car travel using a personal vehicle (Mileage/travel expenses reimbursed.)Scope and Responsibilities:Conduct intake interviews with injured/disabled, limited individual, head trauma, and spinal-cord injured persons and their familiesCoordinate medical/psychological care by developing, initiating, and instituting a rehabilitation plan for the disabled individual, which includes addressing safety issues. Periodically review all plans for effectiveness to assure that desired outcomes and goals are metCase staffing with other relevant rehabilitation professionals in order to provide appropriate and adequate physical care for the injured individual as prescribed by the physicianMonitor care being provided and obtain independent medical opinions when indicated to obtain necessary medical clarification, and apprise involved parties of medical status and care being renderedFacilitate case management activities leading to vocational readinessProvide assistance for home modification, vehicle modifications, PT/OT services, medication regimen, procuring orthotic devices, prescribed healthcare equipment, and coordinating home healthcare servicesPerform employer interviews with employer representatives to ascertain relevant job duties and essential functions of pre-injury jobs; may assist in job restructuring; determine the availability of alternate, modified, and light duty positions with pre-injury employers, as specified by the physician; conduct job analysis (when appropriate)Act as liaison, coordinating efforts with the injured individual, physicians, medical and psychological care providers, attorneys, employers, and insurance professionalsAssist insurance professionals in determining and projecting future care, needs, and expenses; provide pertinent information to assist life care plan specialistsAdhere to the policies and standards set forth by URAC accreditation as well as jurisdictional legislative and regulatory requirementsMay serve on the QI Committee to identify areas of improvement and future quality improvement initiativesMay attend meetings with various departments to coordinate case management effortsReports directly to a medical services supervisorExpected Professional Competencies:Analyze current health status of injured workers to determine nursing care needsProfessional level of verbal and written communication skillsMinimal computer competencyBasic level of understanding of procedural and legislative rules and regulationsQualifications and Experience:Current and unrestricted RN license in the state/jurisdiction for which the nurse is being hiredOne year of direct clinical care experienceThe following are not required; however, individuals possessing any of the following will receive preference:Certification as a case manager (CCM, CDMS, CRC)Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in a health-related field and/or licensed or certified as a health care professionalBenefits:Full benefits package includes 401K
