Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Water Restoration Technician to oversee and execute water damage mitigation projects. This position involves leading a team of technicians, managing job sites, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate has a strong background in water damage restoration, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage water damage restoration projects from start to finish
- Supervise and train junior technicians on proper mitigation techniques and safety procedures
- Perform water extraction, drying, dehumidification, and mold remediation as needed
- Monitor moisture levels using industry-standard equipment (e.g., hygrometers, thermal imaging, moisture meters)
- Set up and monitor drying equipment such as air movers and dehumidifiers
- Maintain accurate and timely job documentation, including photos, readings, and notes in company software
- Communicate with customers to explain the restoration process and answer questions
- Coordinate with insurance adjusters, project managers, and other stakeholders as needed
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with IICRC standards and company protocols
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and company vehicles
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours emergency services
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training or certifications required
- IICRC WRT (Water Restoration Technician) certification, ASD (Applied Structural Drying) certification, AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician) certifications required
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in water damage restoration
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed
