Cost Accountant | Growing Company!

About the Role:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for accurately tracking, analyzing, and reporting costs for our operations. The role works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Sales to provide clear cost and margin insights and to support data-driven decisions. This position is highly systems-oriented and involves daily use of NetSuite and Salesforce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the quote to cash cycle by monitoring, verifying and reporting on each transaction
• Maintain and update standard costs for inventory items, parts, components and labor
• Compare standard versus actual costs by item number, sales order, product line, and customer; investigate and explain significant variances.
• Prepare and present gross margin and profitability analysis by product, customer, and business unit, highlighting trends and opportunities for cost improvement.
• Use NetSuite to maintain accurate BOMs, routings, inventory valuation, and cost data, ensuring data integrity across all modules.
• Work in Salesforce to review quotes, orders, and customer programs and connect this information to cost and margin analysis.
• Support new product costing and quoting, partnering with sales teams using NetSuite and Salesforce data.
• Support the annual standard cost roll and assist in preparing the Company’s budgets and forecasts.
• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations support cycle counts and physical inventories and analyze inventory adjustments and reserves.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities by preparing journal entries, schedules, and analyses across various business units
• Support continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives by providing analytical insight, tracking financial impact, and validating results.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of cost accounting experience
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Salesforce, or comparable ERP/CRM tools, including running reports and exporting data for analysis.
• Strong Excel skills (e.g., lookups, pivot tables, data analysis) and comfort working with large data sets.
• Proven ability to interpret financial and operational data and make clear, practical recommendations.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to partner with cross-functional teams.

Working Conditions

Primarily office based

Exposure to an industrial environment including noise, machinery, and varying temperatures may occur.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
