What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent position at Absolute Group?
Greenland Homes, a division of Absolute Group, is an employee-owned residential home builder in the Des Moines area. We are looking to bring on a full-time Superintendent. This person will prioritize and perform site duties for the home building process. This is a position where you will be able to use your hands and be physically active daily.

- Perform on-site job management for multiple jobs and ensure overall project safety
- Manage projects based on schedules and budget
- Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors, Greenland Homes team members, and material suppliers throughout the home building process
- Resolve issues to maintain productivity and relationships
- Ensure quality control and compliance with the project plans and specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Establish goals and motivate others to reach those goals
- Successful candidate be able to demonstrate positive, confident, and respectful traits with a team-oriented attitude
- Possess general knowledge of construction and how to use power/hand tools safely
- Have accurate blueprint reading skills
- Possess a current/valid Driver’s License
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Be a self-motivator
- Have 3 or more years of experience as a construction superintendent or foreman
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills
- Needs to be able to take instruction with minimal follow up
- Excel and thrive in fast-paced environment with tight deadline
