What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Installer position at Absolute Comfort HVAC llc?
Lead HVAC Installer
Absolute Comfort HVAC & Electrical
Waterford & Waukesha, WI | Greater Milwaukee Area
$35–$45/hour Benefits | Full-Time | Year-Round Work
We’re not the biggest HVAC company in the Milwaukee area. We’re the one that does things right.
Absolute Comfort HVAC & Electrical is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Lead HVAC Installer to join our team.
We work in both residential and light-commercial HVAC, and we’re looking for someone who can take ownership of an installation from start to finish.
Our standard is simple:
If it wouldn’t be done in our own house, we won’t do it in a customer’s home or business.
No cutting corners. No unnecessary upselling. No “good enough.”
We take pride in our work, stand behind what we install, and back our qualifying systems with a 10-year parts AND labor warranty.
What You’ll Do
- Lead residential and light-commercial HVAC installations
- Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, rooftop units (RTUs), packaged equipment, ductless mini-splits, IAQ equipment, and related HVAC systems
- Handle residential changeouts and commercial equipment replacements/installations
- Plan and complete sheet metal, duct connections, venting, gas piping, drains, electrical, and low-voltage portions of installations
- Properly evacuate, charge, start, configure, and commission equipment
- Verify airflow, static pressure, temperature rise, gas pressure, refrigerant operation, and other applicable system measurements
- Configure thermostats, communicating equipment, economizers, and applicable controls
- Lead and teach an install helper
- Review upcoming jobs and make sure materials, equipment, and tools are ready before arriving
- Communicate professionally with homeowners, business owners, property managers, and our office
- Keep jobsites, vehicles, and equipment clean and organized
- Complete startup documentation and jobsite photos
- Walk customers through their new equipment when the installation is complete
What We’re Looking For
We want someone who can run the job, not someone who needs somebody standing over their shoulder all day.
You plan ahead. You communicate. You solve problems. You care what the finished installation looks like.
And when the install is done, it’s actually done—started, configured, tested, commissioned, cleaned up, and ready for the customer.
Qualifications
- Proven HVAC installation experience, preferably as a Lead Installer
- Residential and light-commercial HVAC experience
- Experience with rooftop units and packaged equipment
- Strong knowledge of furnaces, A/C, heat pumps, ductless systems, and RTUs
- Strong understanding of refrigeration, airflow, ductwork, venting, gas piping, electrical, and low-voltage controls
- Ability to independently plan and execute installations
- EPA 608 certification required
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Professional customer communication
- Ability to lead and teach an install helper
Pay & Benefits
$35–$45/hour based on experience and ability
- Consistent, year-round full-time work
- Company vehicle
- Company-provided uniforms
- Paid time off and vacation
- Paid holidays
- Health insurance benefits
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match
- Tool loan/program assistance when needed
- Opportunities to grow with the company
- A real voice in how we do things
You’ll Probably Fit In Here If…
Crooked equipment, sloppy wiring, ugly sheet metal, unsupported lines, and “good enough” bother you.
You’d rather spend another 20 minutes doing something correctly than send someone back tomorrow to fix it.
You think ahead instead of realizing halfway through an install—or while standing on a commercial roof—that something you need is back at the shop.
You take responsibility when something goes wrong, learn from it, and help prevent it from happening again.
And you take enough pride in your work that you’re willing to put your name on the finished product.
If that sounds like you, we want to talk.
Even if you’re currently working somewhere else and simply want to have a confidential conversation about whether Absolute Comfort might be a better fit, that’s completely fine.
