Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to HIPAA regulations
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral health support
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, phlebotomy procedures, and aseptic techniques in accordance with clinical protocols
- Collaborate with nursing staff to develop personalized care plans for patients with complex needs including ICU, trauma center, or pediatric (PICU) cases
- Maintain a safe environment by following infection control practices and safety protocols during patient care activities
Skills
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, sub-acute or post-acute care facilities
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and patient care procedures across medical-surgical, geriatrics, behavioral health, and emergency medicine disciplines
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation
- Ability to perform patient service tasks including vital signs measurement, catheter care, medication assistance and basic life support certification
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; knowledge of dementia and memory care best practices is highly valued
- Skilled in using assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and managing infection control techniques in aseptic environments
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in outpatient clinics or inpatient units
