Position Title: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Our new 40-bed psychiatric hospital in Toms River, New Jersey, is being developed to deliver a modern, patient-centered approach to inpatient psychiatric care. Located on a comprehensive behavioral health campus, the hospital will provide acute psychiatric stabilization and individualized treatment while connecting patients to a full continuum of behavioral health and addiction recovery services.
The campus will bring together inpatient psychiatric care, medical detoxification, residential treatment, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and outpatient mental health services within one coordinated system of care.
Our approach goes beyond short-term stabilization, focusing on clinical recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term wellness. Through evidence-based treatment, multidisciplinary care teams, and coordinated transitions between levels of care, we aim to reduce fragmentation, improve continuity, and support patients throughout their recovery journey.
Our vision is to create an integrated behavioral healthcare destination where patients receive the right care, at the right level, with a clear pathway from crisis stabilization to lasting recovery.

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing general care primarily for patients admitted to the facility. This position performs psychiatric examinations and works closely with the Medical Director and Psychiatrist to develop the correct health care plans and goals for current patients.

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Job description:
The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing general care primarily for patients admitted to the facility. This position performs psychiatric examinations and works closely with the Medical Director and Psychiatrist to develop the correct health care plans and goals for current patients.
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform History and Physical for all patients within 24 hours of admission
- Perform Psychiatric evaluations
- Order and interpret lab tests
- Prescribe non-controlled medications and controlled substances
- Provide education related to medical issues and detox.
- Provide compassionate support through all process phases
- Work with multidisciplinary team to discuss, access and resolve patient problem
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Requirements:
- Active and clean Nurse Practitioner license with Psychiatric certification.
- 1 years experience in a residential or hospital setting
- Substance abuse experience preferred but not required.
- CPR certification
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Schedule:
- Full time - in facility
- 5 - 8 hour shifts per week

- Compensation competitive with experience and location
