Duties
- Remove damaged or broken auto glass safely using hand tools and power tools, ensuring no further damage to the vehicle.
- Install new auto glass with precision, aligning windows and windshields accurately to meet manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct inspections of vehicle glass components to identify issues such as chips, cracks, or improper fitment.
- Calibrate Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) sensors after windshield replacement to ensure proper operation.
- Perform minor auto body repairs related to glass installation, including sealing and finishing touches for a seamless look.
- Use mechanical knowledge and hand tools to assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly related to glass replacement tasks.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed for auto estimating purposes and customer documentation.
- Assist in vehicle detailing and cleaning post-installation to ensure a pristine finish.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when transporting or maneuvering large glass panels or equipment.
- Support general vehicle maintenance tasks as needed, contributing to overall shop efficiency.
- Keep work areas organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
- Familiarity with auto glass installation techniques and industry best practices preferred.
- Knowledge of ADAS calibration procedures following windshield replacement preferred.
- Experience with window tinting applications is a plus.
- Basic auto body repair skills and understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures are advantageous.
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
- Automotive repair or mechanic experience demonstrating technical proficiency is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong problem-solving skills.
