Job Description
The Engineer II will perform engineering design and analysis assignments involving smaller, less complex projects under supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager. These projects require the ability to apply conventional knowledge of statics, dynamics and load path in structural engineering and demonstrate the ability to gain, retain and illustrate comprehension of additional knowledge shared by more senior engineers on a project team.
What You Will Do:
Performs engineering review and analysis assignments under minimal supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager
Applies conventional knowledge in structural engineering.
Review project plans with senior staff to understand the scope, schedule and assigned work.
Prepare written documents, reports and presentations for review by an experienced engineer or engineering manager.
Develop understanding of the technical requirements and challenges and provide suggested opportunities of the business to formulate opportunities to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in day-to-day job tasks.
Participate in client and team meetings.
Track and accurately report hours spent on projects
Work with individuals at all levels, provide input to reports and other deliverables, execute multiple assignments, meet agreed deadlines, and adjust to changing client demands.
Perform quality assurance on project deliverables.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
Ability to gain, retain and illustrate comprehension of learned technical knowledge
Basic knowledge of latest building codes (IBC, CBC and ASCE 7) and material standards (AISC, ACI, NDS and TMS)
Familiarity with common structural building systems (gravity and lateral) and materials (steel, concrete, masonry and wood).
Ability to utilize basic personal computer applications including spreadsheets, MS Office applications, email and internet browers.
Ability to actively listen to the needs of our clients by receiving shared information, determining context and evaluating the information provided
Openly accept change as part of business evolution to meet the needs of our clients and supports it
Understands key performance indicators and their significance to the business and takes action to drive results
Ability to utilize established rapport with senior members of the team and colleagues
Engages in personal development activities that focus on developing customer intimacy

- 2-4 years of relevant professional experience with Bachelor’s degree or 1-2 years of relevant professional experience with Master’s degree.
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) certification required.
