ABRiO Living is hiring Group Home Caregivers
Abrio Living is searching for a group home direct support provider to join our amazing team. We considered cloning our own best staff here at Abrio, but unfortunately, it is not available yet…or ethical. Either way, we need someone ASAP! We are ready with open arms for the right person to join our team.
Wage: $14.80 - $17.00/ hr
We are looking for someone who has experience working with people who have Cognitive and Developmental Disabilities. But even if you have no experience, that’s okay. We need people who care about others and have the desire to make a difference in someone’s life. We will provide the training you will need, just bring patience, understanding, compassion, trustworthiness, ambition, and fun!
Major responsibilities include:
- Assists members with daily activities-whatever they need help with, you help them.
- Socialization-who doesn’t want to have fun at work? Go fishing, bowling, teach a craft, go places, do things, get out there and have a good time.
- Personal care-don’t freak out, the level of personal care is different from home to home, but if you needed someone to help you in the shower who would you want to be there?
- Habilitation - this means you will be teaching the members how to do everything they need to know to be as independent as possible. Much of this is teaching by example. If you can’t set a good example this might not be the job for you.
- Housekeeping - we all do our part to help the members keep their homes clean and tidy.
- Healthcare - we make sure everyone is healthy and safe, this includes following all medical plans, preparing healthy meals, administering medications, attending doctor’s appointments, and documenting each visit.
- Communication is the key- it’s important that you are able to maintain good communication between staff members, supervisors, and the members we care for.
- Be reliable, and really want to be part of the team. Our members rely on you to be there when you say you will.
- Documentation-your documentation should demonstrate the amazing supports that you provide every day.
- Behavioral support-sometimes there are bad days, you may need to give a little extra support and we will help you with that.
- Follows all the Abrio Policies, while maintaining a safe enjoyable environment for the people we care for.
Position desired qualification:
- Experience with behavior management
- Current CPR and First Aid
- Current Article 9
- Current Prevention and Support
- Clear driving record
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Drug-free workplace
- Fingerprint clearance and a background check
Job Type: Full-time and Part-time and On Call shifts
