Job Summary

Position Summary

Provides Endoscopy support. Prepares rooms for Endoscopy procedures. Provides general assistance and supportive tasks as directed and direct and indirect patient care in the ambulatory care setting. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and ambulatory care policies, procedures and standards.

Communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a RN, evaluates outcomes, consults with other healthcare team members as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for patient's age.
  • Assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Interprets data about the patient’s status in order to identify each patient’s age specific needs and provide care needed by the patient group.
  • Medical and surgical asepsis is carried out during treatments and special procedures.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to team leader, coworkers and physicians.
  • Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Specials Skills: Excellent customer service skills.
  • Minimum Requirements
    • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
    • Required Courses/Training: CPR
    • Experience: On the job training
  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Experience: One to two years in Healthcare
