Summary
Abrasive Form is a world leader in high precision Aerospace and Industrial Gas Turbine (IGT) machining. We manufacture turbine blades and vanes for the largest suppliers of gas turbine and military engines in the world. We use high precision CNC milling, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and 3 and 5-axis creep feed and CBN grinding.
The Manufacturing Technical Recruiter will support the Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights, and Elgin locations. As our Manufacturing Technical Recruiter, you will be responsible for sourcing, screening, coordinating on-site interviews and onboarding candidates for a variety of manufacturing, technical, and office positions. The ideal candidate will have experience recruiting for technical roles in a manufacturing setting, as well as a strong understanding of the technical skills and qualifications required for these various positions. They will also be able to build relationships with candidates and hiring managers and effectively sell the company and the role to candidates. The candidate must have demonstrated success in a recruiting capacity that requires flexibility to handle multiple priorities with limited supervision. They must be professional, a self-starter, problem solver that is solutions oriented, capable of developing collaborative relationships at all levels of the organization. They must thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment remaining highly motivated and focused on delivering results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute creative recruiting strategies to attract top talent for hourly and salaried positions in manufacturing, technical, and office positions
- Utilize various sourcing techniques, including but not limited to Boolean searches, networking, referrals, social media, job boards, etc.
- Screen resumes and interview candidates to determine fit for open positions
- Coordinate interviews and assessments between candidates and interview teams
- Collaborate with hiring managers to create detailed job descriptions and job postings utilizing the company’s HR system
- Conduct pre-employment reference checks and coordinate background checks and drug tests for final candidates
- Facilitate candidate decisions with hiring managers and negotiate job offers on behalf of the company
- Conduct and prepare new employee orientation and onboarding ensuring new hire packets, and regulatory paperwork are up-to-date and maintaining the HRIS system processing for new hires
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trends and innovations in recruiting and the industry
- Keep abreast of changes in labor legislation
- Attend career fairs and other industry events
- Develop relationships with colleges and universities to source entry-level candidates
- Manage the full cycle recruiting process for multiple openings at once
- Perform other duties as assigned and needed.
Qualifications and Education Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience in technical manufacturing recruiting or a related role
- Proven ability to source and screen candidates using various tools and techniques
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with many personality types.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and applicant tracking systems
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
- Prior experience with Paycom system (or similar) is desired
- Must be well organized, highly motivated to execute quickly and be flexible while juggling multiple priorities
- Must maintain confidentiality at all times
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master’s degree in human resources or related field
- Experience with Boolean search strings
- Familiarity with social media recruiting
- Knowledge of Machining, or aerospace industries is a plus
- Project management experience
Physical Demands
Frequent sitting at a computer in an office setting. Occasionally walks the plant floor interacting with shop employees to learn about positions. Must be comfortable to be in the plant and in the office. Working Environment
Usual office and manufacturing environment with temperature fluctuations, noise from and interactions with equipment, and safety standards of PPE and practices required.
