We are seeking a Litigation Associate (5 years of experience) to join our Commercial Litigation team on Long Island. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven attorney to take on a substantive role handling complex matters within a fast-paced and dynamic litigation practice.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses, and legal memoranda
- Conduct and defend depositions and handle court appearances in state and federal courts
- Manage all aspects of discovery, including document review, production, and strategy
- Handle arbitrations, mediations, and settlement negotiations
- Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic legal guidance
- Collaborate with attorneys on case strategy, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Prepare for and assist with hearings and trials
- Supervise junior attorneys and support staff as needed
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar (New Jersey admission is a plus)
- 5 years of experience in commercial litigation
- Strong experience with motion practice, depositions, and court appearances
- Experience managing cases independently from start to finish
- Excellent writing, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong interpersonal and client management skills
- Salary range: $145,000 – $200,000, commensurate with experience
