What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Art Camp Instructor position at Abrakadoodle Central Connecticut?
Abrakadoodle of Central Connecticut is looking for a part-time art camp instructor capable of providing a fun experience for our camp programs this summer. Ideally, availability would start in the spring for training reasons. Curriculum is provided, which is written by a team of educators with a background in art education. Materials purchased and provided by us. We service multiple places in the central area of Connecticut.
Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards
- Provide instruction in various mediums including acrylic, clay and collage
- Assess students' progress and provide feedback on their academic performance
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and participation
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student development and welfare
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and behavior
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and any concerns
Qualifications:
- Experience with teaching of any kind is always prefered but not necessary
- Must be available for on site teacher training provided by Abrakadoodle staff
- Experience working with children preferred but not required
- Must be a dependable and reliable employee
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment for students
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage classroom activities and resources
Note: All candidates will be required to pass a background check provided by the Connectiucut State Department of Children & Families.
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
