What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Advisor position at ABRA Auto Body of New Lisbon?
ABRA Auto Body is seeking a detail-oriented Parts Advisor to support our collision repair team and help keep repairs moving efficiently from teardown through completion. This role is responsible for ensuring the correct parts are identified, sourced, ordered, received, and staged accurately and on time for each repair.
This position is ideal for someone with automotive parts, collision repair, or service experience who is highly organized, understands the importance of accuracy, and can effectively manage multiple repair orders and changing priorities in a fast-paced body shop environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Identify, source, and order OEM, aftermarket, recycled, and other approved collision repair parts
- Work closely with estimators, body technicians, painters, and management to ensure required parts are available throughout the repair process
- Review repair orders and estimates to verify parts needs and identify missing or incorrect parts
- Receive incoming parts and inspect them for accuracy, quality, and damage before assigning them to a repair
- Organize, label, and stage parts by repair order or vehicle to keep technicians productive and repairs on schedule
- Coordinate returns, credits, damaged parts, incorrect shipments, and unused parts with vendors
- Track backorders, ETAs, and delayed parts and communicate updates that may impact repair timelines
- Assist with parts-related supplements and documentation when additional or replacement parts are identified during the repair process
- Maintain accurate parts invoices, pricing, credits, and documentation within the shop management system
- Communicate with dealerships, distributors, recyclers, and other parts vendors regarding availability, pricing, and delivery
- Maintain an organized parts receiving and storage area and ensure parts are properly assigned to the correct vehicle
- Help identify and resolve parts discrepancies quickly to minimize delays in the repair process
- Support inventory control and other parts-related needs throughout the collision center
What We’re Looking For:
- 1 year of experience in automotive parts, collision repair, service, or inventory preferred
- Collision repair or body shop parts experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs, VIN-based parts lookup, and automotive parts terminology
- Experience with collision estimating or shop management systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when matching parts to repair orders and vehicles
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technicians, estimators, vendors, and management
- Ability to manage multiple repair orders, deliveries, backorders, and changing priorities simultaneously
- Comfortable working in an active collision repair environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform standing, walking, bending, and lifting duties throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation
Physical & Work Environment
- Collision repair facility with regular interaction with technicians, estimators, vendors, and delivery personnel
- Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting, computer use, and handling of automotive parts
- Exposure to shop noise, temperature changes, dust, automotive products, and an active repair environment
