Above The Mark is a production/event labor provider in South Florida servicing the live, theatrical, and corporate event production industries. We represent a world class community of General AV technicians, high-end technical engineers. (A1,V1, L1), break out operators, ballroom/arena riggers, and many more!
We are looking for those interested in stagehand work, which requires assisting with venue load-in, show run, and load-out. Stagehands are responsible for working under the instructions of a venue manager, inspecting equipment for damage after use, checking equipment against an inventory list, assisting in the logistical management of corporate and public events, among other duties. Their primary responsibilities include preparing venues and setting up chairs and stages for events and assisting venue operations. Moreover, event staff needs to constantly be on their feet and attend to the many needs of event-goers, requiring physical stamina and high energy levels.
We train stagehands and those new to the industry to be General AV (Audio, Visual) Technicians. A General AV Technician is capable of loading/unloading trucks and setting up/removing AV equipment in corporate ballrooms, meeting rooms, theaters, exhibits, and other venues.
This is a freelance position! Choose what events/hours you work. Fall/winter is season for our industry- potential for more hours.
Gain experience in the industry. Potential to train for more advanced positions.
Ongoing need to fill this role!
- Preferred (not required): 1 year of experience as a stagehand and/or AV Tech within the Live, Corporate, Theatrical, and/or Broadcast industry preferred. Must be willing to attend a training if applying with little to no experience.
- Unpack/pack, place the gear, run cable, build screens, hang lights, set up pipe & drape, stack speakers/projectors, assemble scenic elements, conventional light focus, etc., under the management of our onsite crew leadership and/or client.
- Must be able to show up on-time, in dress code with required tools, and follow all company policies.
- Must be able to adhere to event safety standards.
- Must be capable of pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, etc.
- Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds while using correct and safe lifting methods.
- Must be capable of listening to instructions and following direction.
- Reliable Transportation necessary as job sites vary across the South Florida area (Miami - Ft.Lauderdale - West Palm Beach). *This does not mean you will need to travel all over south FL, but you might be given an opportunity to travel to further locations for work*
