Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by checking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings accurately
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks in accordance with health standards
- Document care activities, observations, and any incidents clearly and promptly in compliance with healthcare protocols
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, home health, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and memory care strategies
- Ability to perform CPR and First Aid confidently; certification preferred but not required
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or disabilities requiring specialized support
- Familiarity with medication administration, care plans, and vital signs monitoring
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts
